Katy Williams
The Myth of Pegasus is the show that started it all for Katy. In 2014 she decided to turn the Greek myth of Pegasus and Bellerophon into a fully realized puppet show... her first one ever. Over a year of development later, Katy created one of the most original and innovative student pieces in DU history. She was also the first theatre student to ever earn PINS, a grant given to students at the top of research and development in their field. This show featured a life size 7 foot long Pegasus puppet, performed by two puppeteers. It also featured an even larger 14 foot long, 10 foot tall Chimera Puppet. This show also explored shadow puppetry and black y and blacklight puppetry. It was originally produced at the University of Denver in 2014 and again at the Fort Collins Fringe Festival in 2018.
The logo for Katy Williams Design features a Pegasus to honor Katy's first ever puppet.
